Position Overview & Key Responsibilities

TPS staff members are passionate, resilient, and deeply committed to the personal and academic development of young people. This role focuses on academic instruction, behavioral support, and targeted intervention—with a strong emphasis on supporting Spanish speaking scholars.

Instruction & Data-Driven Support
  • Targeted Intervention: Use academic and social-emotional data to identify, group, and instruct scholars who need additional supports.

  • Effective Pedagogy: Plan, pace, differentiate, and deliver engaging lesson plans using culturally responsive pedagogy and integrated technology.

  • Progress Tracking: Establish clear learning objectives, regularly assess scholar accomplishments, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress to families and colleagues.

Specialized Scholar Advocacy (ML & Exceptional Learners)
  • Language Support: Evaluate language needs, administer language screeners, and implement targeted strategies to increase English proficiency for bilingual scholars.

  • Collaborative Care: Work alongside classroom teachers, the Director of Exceptional Learners, and the school psychologist to facilitate special education eligibility and share best practices.

Classroom Culture & Safety
  • Behavior Management: Maintain impeccable and positive classroom management by establishing clear rules, routines, and disciplinary systems aligned with school policies.
