Job description

The Department of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at our organization in Southern California is on the lookout for a fellow specializing in Facial Plastic Surgery & Advanced Rhinologic Surgery. This one-year fellowship offers a comprehensive, high-volume academic referral practice with a strong emphasis on Nasal Surgery, and we highly encourage mission electives.

Our department is staffed by four full-time, fellowship-trained Rhinologic and Skull Base surgeons, alongside three facial plastic surgeons. The fellowship is primarily centered on Nasal Surgery, featuring extensive experience in endoscopic sinus procedures, anterior skull base surgeries, and selected reconstructive rhinoplasty cases. Training will also encompass nasal and facial trauma, making it a vital aspect of this fellowship opportunity. While there is a broad scope of training in both Facial Plastic and Advanced Rhinology, reconstructive cases will take precedence over cosmetic and clinic-based procedures.

The fellow will collaborate with faculty at our institution, assisting in various cases. Fellows have the autonomy to select their cases, ensuring a well-rounded, fellow-directed experience. Intraoperative teaching of residents is a key expectation. Participation in the multidisciplinary Skull Base Tumor Board is mandatory, and we encourage fellows to engage with standardized reading materials.

Compensation and comprehensive benefits are provided through the department, with a salary aligned with PGY-6 levels at our institution. Additional earnings may be available through elective call opportunities or satellite clinics for those interested.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $104,000, depending on years of experience and/or faculty rank. This figure does not account for variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to the specific compensation plans of the department. Further details regarding compensation will be discussed during the recruitment process.

  • Our benefits package includes:
  • Generous Retirement Contributions
  • Comprehensive Medical and Dental Coverage
  • Competitive Vacation and Sick Leave
  • CME Days and Funding
  • Paid Malpractice Insurance
  • Paid Life Insurance
  • Federal Loan Repayment (if eligible)

Physician Loan Repayment:

For additional information regarding Loan Forgiveness, please refer to the relevant resources.
