Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Intern - Grifols Therapeutics, Clayton, NC
Position Summary
The OHS Intern will support safety programs and compliance efforts at the Grifols Clayton biopharmaceutical manufacturing site. This role provides hands-on experience in occupational health, safety systems, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Support OHS team with site safety improvement projects
• Update and post machine-specific Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
• Assist in identifying and documenting confined spaces across the facility
• Help transition the Contractor Safety Training Program into the ISN system
• Conduct research on OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and internal safety standards
• Promote safety culture through communication and engagement activities
• Assist with near-miss reporting, data tracking, and corrective action follow-up
Qualifications
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Basic understanding of OSHA, EPA, and general EHS regulations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in team environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
