Job description

PURPOSE:To responsibly direct the daily activities of the Crayola Experience team members and provideexceptional guest service to all guests at Mall of America. To maintain welcoming and inviting locations and support the Crayola team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead Crayola Experience team members emphasizing guest service and MOA policies and standards.
  • Present positive and professional attitude towards guests and team members.
  • Support the Crayola brand's educational mission to use the arts as a tool for intellectual and emotional development of children
  • Provide assistance to guests with complex needs and situations that require a leader to resolve.
  • Copy radio calls and prioritize tasks as they are communicated.
  • Utilize provided radio to communicate and coordinate tasks with other team leads and supervisors.
  • Prepare and maintain attraction, retail, food and beverage and entertainment related materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with the supervisors to order as needed.
  • Ensure all areas are prepared for optimal daily operation as it relates to service excellence, safety and cleanliness, including communicating maintenance needs.
  • Manage special events and content classes for groups and marketing promotions.
  • Operate the MOA point of sale system, including issuing refunds and other advanced POS operations.
  • Assist with scheduling character appearances and maintain all character costumes.
  • Assist with daily rotation schedules and assign daily tasks and projects to team members.
  • Facilitate pre-shift meetings (Take5) which includes communicating relevant news and making independent decisions to ensure coverage at each location.
  • Assist supervisors by resolving minor team member concerns, ensure breaks are taken on time, report violations policies and procedures.
  • Recognize positive team member performances and share team member success with supervisors.
  • Address team member performance concerns, giving immediate feedback focusing on improvement.
  • Assist with documentation of team member performance issues, communicating with department supervisors as needed.
  • Train new and existing team members on proper procedure.
  • Receive new merchandise and communicate with warehouse regarding discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory, work with supervisors to request product from warehouse or vendors.
  • Ensure backrooms are organized to maximize stocking capabilities.
  • Explain and enforce ticket policies for Crayola Experience and other Mall attractions.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness and safety of the work area.
  • Act as a leader in safety during weather, lockdown and other security procedures.
  • Serve as on-duty leader in the absence of a Crayola Experience Supervisor.
  • Act as a Crayola Experience Cashier, Attractions Associate, and Entertainment Performer as needed.
  • Cross train with other MOA departments, and willing to regularly assist other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and high volume days.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Prior retail experience.
  • Interpersonal skills - working alone and with a team.
  • Outstanding guest service skills.
  • Strong listening and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous point of sale and cash handling experience.
  • Prior experience in a museum, educational setting, guest service center or family attraction preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers preferred.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member will frequently be required to speak and listen to guests in order to understand their needs and communicate a solution. Team member must also possess a level of hearing that will continuously allow them to be aware of their surroundings and recognize when a guest needs their attention. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team members are required to be able to tolerate multiple sensory stimuli at once while performing their duties. These stimuli may include: loud auditory/noise, smells/olfactory, bright lights, colors, motion, and other visual stimuli.
