Location: Remote with 25-30% travel

Salary: $65,000-$72,000

Position summary:

The Director of Church Engagement serves as the primary relationship builder between TMS Global and churches, church networks, and ministry influencers. This role develops and strengthens strategic partnerships by listening to the needs of churches, identifying opportunities for deeper engagement, and connecting churches with the full spectrum of TMS Global ministry opportunities.

Rather than creating or managing programs, this role focuses on cultivating trusted relationships, providing strategic insight to organizational leadership regarding church engagement priorities, and collaborating across departments to ensure churches are connected with the most appropriate resources, initiatives, and ministry opportunities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. To live in accordance with the faith statement and core values of TMS, with a commitment to be an example of life-long learning and continuous intentional growth in the study and life application of God's Word.
  2. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with pastors, church leaders, denominational leaders, church networks, and ministry influencers.
  3. Represent TMS Global at conferences, church events, and networking opportunities to expand organizational visibility and cultivate new partnerships.
  4. Serve as the primary point of contact for churches seeking engagement with TMS Global, connecting them with the ministry opportunities that best align with their vision, needs, and mission.
  5. Maintain and strengthen existing church partnerships while identifying opportunities to deepen engagement across multiple ministry initiatives.
  6. Listen intentionally to church leaders to understand emerging needs, challenges, and opportunities, communicating these insights to organizational leadership to inform future strategy and ministry priorities. New resources will be created collaboratively between church networks and broader TMS Global ministry teams.
  7. Provide strategic recommendations to the Vice President for Mobilization regarding relationship priorities, network development, and where organizational leadership should invest time and resources.
  8. Maintain accurate relationship records and engagement activity within Salesforce or other constituent relationship management systems.
  9. Identify opportunities to increase church participation in giving, sending, training, and mission engagement across the organization.
  10. Work cooperatively across departments to ensure seamless communication, lead sharing, and coordinated ministry efforts- including Mobilization, Development, Immerse, Activate, Who Is My Neighbor, and other ministry teams.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job knowledge and experience:

  • A vibrant Christian faith and agreement with the TMS Global Statement of Faith.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent ministry or professional experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in church leadership, ministry partnerships, relationship management, business development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success building long-term strategic relationships.
  • Strong understanding of local church culture and missions engagement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to listen well, discern organizational needs, and connect people with appropriate solutions.
  • Experience using CRM software such as Salesforce preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams.

Personal requirements:

  • Possess a genuine passion for serving the local church.
  • Build trust quickly with pastors, ministry leaders, and organizational partners.
  • Thrive in highly relational environments.
  • Be an excellent listener who values collaboration over ownership.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and commitment to engaging people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Exercise wisdom, professionalism, and discretion in all communications.

Physical requirements:

This position requires approximately 25-30% travel, including conferences, church visits, partner meetings, and other ministry events. Work requires light to moderate physical activity with reasonable repetitive motion and may be required to lift equipment up to 30 pounds.
