Responsibilities
- Developing and updating mining plans in cooperation with corporate mining personnel.
- Providing support to quarry personnel on mining and crushing operations as needed, including implementation of mining plans.
- On-going review and optimization of mining related key performance efficiency indicators
- Performing GPS quarry surveys
- Updating mineral reserves
- Working closely with plant Quality Manager to ensure quality and consistency of the quarried material
- Supporting permitting and compliance activities
- Supporting the quarry personnel with optimizing mobile equipment operations, including completion of time studies
- Perform training of quarry personnel as needed
- Completing internal and external quarry operations reports
Qualifications
- BS degree in Mining Engineering or Geology
- Two (2) to five (5) years working as a Mining Manager / Engineer. Prior experience with open pit mining required.
- Self-motivated and results driven.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills including Surpac Mining Software and MS Office.
- AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
- Requires physical dexterity to navigate through and around various job conditions, including climbing, walking on less-than-optimal surfaces, etc.
- Must be able to tolerate noise, dust, and dirty conditions
