About the role Job Summary
The Sr. Strategic Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships with key clients across multiple lines of business. This role involves developing long-term account strategies, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
This job profile is intended for specialist professionals that apply advanced knowledge of a job area. Required to manage projects / processes independently with limited supervision. Typically coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals.

Regional Sales Manager - Metals & Mining


Position Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for shaping and executing Sulzer Pumps' channel strategy for the Metals & Mining market across North America. This role provides commercial leadership to drive profitable growth, deepen engagement with end users, EPCs, and channel partners, expand Sulzer's installed base, and accelerate aftermarket revenue across the region.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Growth Leadership: Lead regional growth initiatives by developing and executing a Metals & Mining strategy aligned with Sulzer Pumps' commercial priorities and long-term objectives.

Channel Strategy & Performance: Establish, develop, and oversee channel partners to ensure market coverage, commercial effectiveness, and alignment with Sulzer's go-to-market strategy.

Installed Base & Aftermarket Expansion: Advance new equipment sales to strengthen the installed base while driving sustainable aftermarket growth in parts, service, repairs, and upgrades.

Executive Customer Engagement: Build and strengthen strategic relationships with mining operators, processing facilities, and engineering firms to identify project opportunities and long-term account potential.

Technical & Commercial Value Selling: Provide consultative support that positions Sulzer solutions around reliability, lifecycle performance, and total cost of ownership.

Market Presence & Pipeline Development: Maintain a strong field presence through customer visits

and joint engagement with channel partners to expand pipeline and convert priority opportunities.

Capability Building: Strengthen partner and customer effectiveness through targeted product, application, and market training that reinforces Sulzer's competitive position.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with engineering, service, and operations teams to ensure disciplined execution, high customer satisfaction, and successful commercial outcomes.


Critical Success Factors

Deep understanding of pump applications within mining, mineral processing, and metals operations.

Demonstrated ability to deliver growth through both direct and channel-led commercial models.

Strong capability in strategic account development, executive relationship management, and opportunity capture.

Excellent communication, leadership, and execution skills, with the ability to influence across internal and external stakeholders.


Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline preferred.

5-10 years of progressive experience in pump or rotating equipment sales within the Metals & Mining sector.

Demonstrated record of delivering profitable growth, leading channel partner performance, and applying the technical and commercial judgment required to support engineered pump


Travel Requirement

Travel up to 75% across the assigned territory is expected to support customer engagement, channel development, and business growth objectives
