Employee Type: RegularA Dragline Operator is responsible for operating a dragline excavator to perform excavation and material placement on construction or mining sites. Maintains efficient dig patterns, supports safe site operations, and assists with all equipment repairs and component replacements.

Job Description:

Title: Dragline Operator

Location: Palm Beach County

Reports to:Operations Supervisor

Department: Operations

Essential Duties:

  • Safely operates a dragline in all modes of digging, spoiling and propelling.
  • Assists supervisor with maintaining consistent dig sequence and windrow placement.
  • Anticipates walking pad requirements and requests grading assistance to eliminate down time on the machine.
  • Conducts pre shift inspections, rope inspections and monitors bucket teeth to anticipate necessary replacement.
  • Assist other crew members to maintain positive, engaged and safe work environment.
  • Performs job duties in accordance with MSHA, OSHA & USACE law and regulations, established company safety procedures and State and Federal environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with ground crew, supervisors, site personnel and representatives

Other Duties:

  • Support and assists the maintenance team with all repair and component replacements.
  • At times, may be required to drive a company vehicle, must maintain a valid driving record (MVR) and in good standings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prior demonstrated ability operating draglines or other heavy equipment in a construction or mining environment.
  • Ability to work with other crew members and work as a team player is a must.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Prior on-the-job experience as a dragline operator is required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Prior dragline operating experience
  • Clean MVR.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • OSHA compliant Man-Lift Training (current of ability to obtain upon hire)
  • OSHA compliant Telehandler Training (current or ability to obtain upon hire)
