Job Description:

Title: Electrician

Location: Medley, FL

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Department: Maintenance

Essential Duties:

  • Perform electrical inspections on mine equipment and record data in forms and books.
  • Read and understand parts books and manuals.
  • Work with low, medium, and high voltage electric systems safely.
  • Connect, disconnect, and switch high voltage power cables.
  • Perform troubleshooting on AC and DC circuits.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Use basic electrical test instruments.
  • Repair, maintain and troubleshooting of D.C. motors and controls on mining equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluency in English is preferred, Bi-lingual is a plus.
  • Know how to read and interpret technical manuals and instructions, and electrical prints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code, MSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity and theory.
  • Must drive a company vehicle and maintain a valid driving record (MVR) and in good standing.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Electrical technical training in vocational school or equivalent experience.
  • Certification as MSHA certified Green Card Electrician or capability of obtaining certification.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current certification as a MSHA "green card" electrician preferred.
  • Prior experience in low, medium and high voltage electric systems a plus.
  • Clean MVR.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
