Position Overview
The
Loader for
Ecoservices in Martinez, CA is responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment in the loading area to support the movement of sulfuric acid products. This role ensures compliance with all operational, health, safety, and environmental requirements while supporting plant logistics, rail operations, and truck loading activities.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Load and unload sulfuric acid to and from railcars in accordance with established procedures
- Move and spot railcars within plant rail tracks
- Perform daily inspections, including tank and pipeline inspections
- Monitor and manage sulfuric acid movement between tanks and pipelines
- Operate truck racks as needed
- Monitor and assist truck drivers during loading and unloading activities
- Identify maintenance issues and assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment
- Assist with life-critical permits and preparation of equipment lockout/tagout
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, as necessary
- Participate in load process hazard analyses (PHAs)
- Operate scale house systems and complete required shipping documentation
- Support plant turnarounds and outages as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including DOT and HAZWOPER
- Ability to use hand tools
- Basic computer skills
- Basic reading comprehension and math skills
- Ability to work rotating schedules, including days, nights, and weekends
- Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear and use required job-specific personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators
- Willingness to be trained on operating railcar track mobiles and other heavy equipment
Compensation:
- The base hourly pay for this position, based on the job description criteria listed, is $48.04 per hour.
