Project Scheduler - ARB, Inc.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience working closely with project teams and managing schedules for large, lump sum EPC construction projects.
ARB, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support major energy infrastructure projects throughout California and neighboring states. This role is integral to the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale, lump-sum EPC construction projects. The successful candidate will provide advanced scheduling expertise, ensure schedule integrity, and support project teams in achieving critical milestones and contractual obligations.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze fully integrated master schedules utilizing Primavera P6 in accordance with project requirements and industry best practices
  • Manage comprehensive schedules for large capital projects (5,000-10,000 activities; $100M+), ensuring logical sequencing, resource alignment, and baseline integrity
  • Identify and monitor critical path activities, forecast completion dates, and evaluate schedule risks, opportunities, and milestone performance
  • Compile and maintain historical schedule data, including lessons learned, to support continuous improvement and future project planning
  • Develop, review, and update sub-schedules and ensure alignment with the integrated master schedule

Coordinate schedule development and updates with client representatives, engineering teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Prepare detailed progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and schedule impact assessments for internal and external distribution
  • Support qualitative and quantitative risk analyses, including schedule risk modeling when applicable
  • Collaborate with project controls to validate reported progress, assess variances, and evaluate the status of critical activities
  • Monitor schedule deviations, delays, and variances, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project objectives
  • Work closely with project management and field teams to ensure schedule accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project execution plans
  • Provide oversight or mentorship to junior schedulers as required
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and perform resource loading and leveling within P6

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 5-7 years of experience in construction project scheduling, preferably within EPC or large capital project environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and related analytical tools
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering documents, construction plans, and project execution strategies
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams
