Position Responsibilities:
Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative economic, financial and other data (cost center and account level inputs and business insight across multiple banners (e.g., Whole Foods Market, Fresh, Go); channels (e.g., instore, online); fulfillment types (e.g., instore sale, delivery, pickup); and product categories (e.g., perishables)) by connecting large-scale data mining tools (e.g., IBM TM1/Cognos) with Excel to generate P&Ls and other detailed financial reports; using AI-powered applications (e.g., QuickSuite, Orcha, Mentor, Nova) to organize inputs and data from different sources, validate calculations, and draft financial commentary; pulling inputs from large-scale data mining and visualization tools (e.g., IBM TM1/Cognos, QuickSight) to conduct in-depth analysis to support financial planning and operating expense management; and connecting with banners' senior leadership to gather and discuss business insight. Prepare various deliverables such as consolidating and analyzing expectations across banners ahead of a forecast update, weekly planning cycle reports to track alignment with preliminary expectations, rate-based analyses (e.g., per unit, % of sales), and financial packages for senior leadership review by generating P&Ls, variance analyses, and in-depth reports using large-scale data mining tools (e.g., IBM TM1/Cognos) and business insight; using AI-powered applications (e.g., QuickSuite, Orcha, Mentor, Nova) to organize inputs and data from different sources, validate calculations, and draft financial commentary; pulling cost center and account level inputs from large-scale data mining and visualization tools (e.g., IBM TM1/Cognos, QuickSight) to conduct benchmark and in-depth analysis; and partnering with other finance teams across Amazon to gather material from outside the grocery organization to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including insightful financial performance analysis to achieve business goals. Take ownership, identify process improvement opportunities for existing processes, reporting and controls, and drive positive change across the organization. Understand relevant accounting principles and communicate the application of GAAP to peers and business partners. Participate in writing white papers to support a given accounting position. Provide management and direction to junior analysts, including overseeing and reviewing reporting and Excel spreadsheet work papers. Document processes. Assess internal controls through performing variance analysis between preliminary expectations and latest available plans; identifying cost center and account level data load issues by using large-scale data mining tools (e.g., IBM TM1/Cognos) to compare latest inputs to previous expectations; studying planning accuracy across Grocery teams by comparing trends and latest plan updates, identifying gaps in the control process, and designing additional controls; tracking major business decisions are correctly included in plan updates; relaying trends, risks, and opportunities to finance teams and senior leadership to solve deficiencies and improve planning accuracy; and informing process updates with formal communications through multiple channels (e.g., group and individual meetings, email, Slack). Oversee the monthly close process working closely with finance team to ensure the validity of the financials and report results to senior management. Act independently to complete multiple cross-functional projects with complex objectives. Create and maintain reports. Track down and identify sources of data, determine the validity of the data, and analyze the variance in the data between various systems and reports.
40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range: $108,410/year to $163,200/year.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Position Requirements:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related analytical field and three years of experience in finance or a related analytical field. Employer will accept a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related analytical field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation as equivalent to the Master's degree and three years of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skills: (1) building and managing financial models for business forecasting and variance analysis using advanced excel spreadsheet techniques such as vlookups and pivot tables; (2) analyzing business processes; (3) designing and implementing controls; (4) financial reporting; and (5) managing cross-functional financial projects including project design, requirements, and implementation.#0000
