Mining mechanics work on equipment such as drills, loaders, trucks, and conveyors, often in challenging environments. Their role is crucial to minimize downtime and keep mining operations running smoothly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a mining mechanic?

To thrive as a Mining Mechanic, you need strong mechanical aptitude, technical troubleshooting skills, and typically a trade qualification or certification in heavy equipment maintenance. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is often required.
