Job description

Forge Resources Group, a leader in custom forgings, is looking for a CNC Machine Operator at our Freeport, IL location. Forge Resources Group produces steel solutions for a variety of industries through forging, hot forming, and fabrication.

Day Shift - 5:00am-3:30pm Monday thru Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load parts in CNC for machining / remove finished parts from CNC
  • Run CNC programs
  • Edit programs at CNC machine
  • Machine parts on manual Landis threaders
  • Inspect parts visually and with measuring equipment to ensure quality of machining and finished part
  • Complete required paperwork to include tags, inspection documents, and production logs etc..
  • Maintain organized and clean work area
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to use and read measuring equipment including ruler and micrometer to .0001 required
  • Previous experience loading parts and running CNC mills and/or lathes required
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions required
  • Reliability, punctuality and attentiveness required
  • Attention to detail required
  • Understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds and toolpaths preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Manual machining and mechanical skills preferred

Education Requirement:

  • High School Diploma required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending twisting
