The Role
The EHS Coordinator will support high standards of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) and facility management within our warehousing operations. This role contributes to the implementation and continuous improvement of risk controls, supports the maintenance of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, training, and provides day-to-day EHS oversight for warehouse activities. Additionally, the coordinator assists in ensuring the facility operates efficiently, enabling optimal performance of daily warehousing operations.
Main Responsibilities Include:
EHS:
  • Serve as a safety representative for supply chain operations, supporting the EHS Coordinator in the implementation of safety programs and initiatives
  • Participate in and help facilitate Safety Committee meetings, contributing to continuous improvement efforts
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of hazardous materials and dangerous goods policies in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Maintain EHS systems and databases, including incident reporting, hazard tracking, audits, inspections, CAPA, and site safety statistics
  • Assist in the development and execution of annual EHS site plans and objectives
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify risks and ensure compliance
  • Promote safe working behaviors by coaching warehouse personnel and reinforcing best practices on the floor
  • Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and trainings to support awareness and engagement
  • Support compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation and internal policies
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Behaviour-Based Safety observations, and new equipment evaluations
  • Recommend practical risk mitigation measures, including ergonomic improvements
  • Support the development, implementation and communication of EHS policies, procedures, and reporting processes
  • Assist in maintaining occupational injury and illness records and documentation
  • Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 45001 (OH&S) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems
  • Coordinate and/or deliver training on safety procedures, hazard awareness, and proper use of safety equipment
  • Assist in incident response and investigation processes, including root cause analysis and follow-up actions
  • Support workers compensation processes, including documentation and coordination of clinic visits
  • Other duties as assigned

Facilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee contractors and third-party service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to agreed standards
  • Monitor the overall condition of the facility, ensuring it meets the operational needs of employees and remains safe and functional
  • Log, track, and coordinate maintenance requests with external vendors, following up to ensure timely resolution
  • Support vendor and supplier management, including scheduling services and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Procure and manage inventory of facility and safety supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times
  • Maintain and update facility documentation, including floor plans, fire safety layouts, and related records
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of applicable EHS legislation
  • Experience in reporting and analytics capacity, as well as in producing high-quality data driven deliverables
  • Strong skills in database querying with Power Query in Microsoft Excel/Power BI and data management applications
  • Knowledge and experience with business intelligence tools/relational database applications
  • Demonstrated experience with policy development, training development and roll out
  • Knowledge in ISO (14001 and 45001) standards and requirements
  • Previous FTZ Warehouse experience
  • Detail-oriented with good time management and organizational skills
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Spanish/English bilingual proficiency a plus (both spoken and written)

Required Competencies

Success in this position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and a strong desire to engage with colleagues while handling multiple tasks simultaneously. The individual must have the ability to establish, train, maintain and enforce EHS best practices and provide statistics and updates to executive leadership. The candidate must be able to manage vendors, obtain quotes and negotiate pricing for all facility maintenance.

Pay is dependent on experience with pay rate of $85,000-$93,000
