Mining Engineer (Mid-Career to Senior Level)

I-Pulse Albuquerque LLC

We are seeking an innovative mining engineer interested in applying pulsed-power technology to mining. Candidates should have experience in developing mining equipment, designing production mines, and optimizing safe, efficient mining techniques and equipment selection. Collaboration with pulsed-power scientists and mechanical engineers is key to enhancing mine productivity while reducing costs.

I-Pulse Albuquerque is investing in R&D to pioneer new technologies and establish industry benchmarks in pulsed-power and electrical systems. By opening an office in Albuquerque, we are advancing our commitment to commercializing pulsed power. We seek creative individuals who can rapidly transform concepts into hardware and integrate them into commercial applications.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with scientists, engineers, technicians, and program managers to develop pulsed-power systems for mining.
  • Using simulation tools to design and predict system performance in mining applications.
  • Modeling hydrodynamic and solid-matter interfaces and their response to explosives.
  • Presenting work at design reviews, managing schedules, and tracking project costs.
  • Conducting theoretical and experimental analysis of prototype mining equipment.
  • Documenting results, failures, and corrective actions.
  • Writing technical proposals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in mining engineering, physics, or a related field (B.S. considered with sufficient experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in mining projects or equipment.
  • Experience in mining or mining prototyping environments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 15–20+ years of experience in advanced mining engineering or related projects for industry.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in mining engineering or a related field.
