Overview/Basic Function
Takes inventory and restocks guestroom Mini Bars on a daily basis and prepares charges accordingly. Removes and replaces Mini Bars in guest rooms upon request and provides monthly inventory of all items.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guest and residents' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guest and residents, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest and resident relations at all times.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental/hotel policies and procedures.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest and resident inquiries accurately.
  • Resolve guest and resident complaints, ensuring guest and resident satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all food and non-food selections available.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of guest and resident room layout, locations of mini-bars and room numbers/names.
  • Fully understand the use of radios and HOTSOS for completing guest requests and for communication with Order taker / manager on duty.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  • Inventory and requisition stock for Caddies.
  • Serve the food items and beverages to the guest and resident in compliance with The Carlyle standards and steps of service.
  • Maintain security of designated keys
  • Complete opening side work:
  • Check quality/dates of all stock and supplies being used and items being removed from rooms based on rotation.
  • Complete opening inventory sheet
  • Complete requisition for the day based on rotation
  • Transport items from store room to the mini-bar
  • Rotate items (based on expiration date) in caddie
  • Enter guest rooms and inventory mini-bars
  • Replenish Items in guestroom mini bars, including the Nespresso capsules, and complete consumption reports
  • Clean and restock caddie
  • Complete closing side work:
  • Securely store all beverages and supplies
  • Clean all equipment and tools
  • Remove trash (from caddie and your work space)
  • Complete closing inventory and requisition.
  • Your paperwork must be signed by your manager on duty prior to leaving for the day.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas, guest and resident rooms and guest and resident corridors.
  • Interact in courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members.
  • Respond in courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties.
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area.
  • Models the company's culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
  • All other duties as required.

Education: High school diploma.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certificate & California Food Handler Card, required.

Experience
  • Minimum 3-year experience in similar position in a luxury environment.
