Job description

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for Security Operations Technician at our Phoenix mine. As part of the Security team, the successful candidate will be support centric adding to our already challenging, yet rewarding, work environment strengthening our mining operations. The successful candidate will protect personnel, property and processes against harm, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Must comply with state and federal health and safety regulations, company policies and procedures, and company's environmental compliance policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct inspections of vehicles, property, and high security areas. Be able to recognize unauthorized items or circumstances.
  • Be willing and able to work overtime, accept abrupt schedule changes, respond in a timely manner to emergency callouts.
  • Write reports on events of the day. Possess writing proficiency in order to express ideas factually, accurately and to-the-point.
  • Report on security events that occur that affect company personnel or property.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for emergency call taking and taking statements. Communicate with Security Supervisor regarding any situation that may affect the company.
  • Monitor the refinery security systems including responding to alarms.
  • Demonstrate professional and courteous interpersonal communication skills.
  • Train on Security Policies and Procedures manual.
  • Assist Security Systems Technicians as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task with ability to remain poised during demanding situations.
  • Monitor access control system and video monitoring surveillance system.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must pass a security background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs, and work safely on uneven terrain and outdoor surfaces.
  • Must have functional computer skills and high typing proficiency.
