Job description

About Us:
Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The company is focused on advancing the Spring Valley Gold Project in Pershing County, Nevada, and specializes in taking high potential gold assets through late-stage development and into production. Solidus applies a technically rigorous, capital-disciplined approach to mine development, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, operational safety, and community engagement.
The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. Envisioned as a long-life, low-cost open-pit, heap-leach operation, Spring Valley has a robust resource base and considerable exploration upside along a 7-mile strike length across the Black Ridge fault zone.
With a leadership team experienced in engineering, permitting, and large-scale project execution, Solidus Resources is advancing Spring Valley through feasibility, permitting, and construction, with a clear path toward operational readiness. The company's goal is to responsibly unlock the value of U.S.-based gold assets while building a reputation for excellence in project delivery and sustainable development.
Position Overview:
The Mine Superintendent is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of all open pit mining activities within an autonomous gold mining operation. The role leads production teams and coordinates with autonomous fleet operations to achieve safety, production, environmental, and business objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead mining operations while promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations, company policies, and environmental requirements.
  • Execute mine plans to achieve production, productivity, and quality targets.
  • Coordinate activities with technical services, drill and blast, ore control, maintenance, and autonomous haulage teams.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production crews to drive accountability and performance.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and equipment utilization.
  • Manage operating costs, budgets, and contractor performance while meeting production objectives.
  • Ensure ore and waste are mined in accordance with mine plans and grade control requirements.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of autonomous mining systems.
  • Monitor key operational KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve safety, reliability, and operational performance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in open pit mining operations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience supervising mining operations.
  • Experience working in large-scale open pit mining operations.
  • Experience with autonomous haulage systems or autonomous mining operations is considered an asset

Technical Skills:
  • Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS)
  • Fleet Management Systems (FMS)
  • Mine dispatch systems
  • Open pit mine planning and execution
  • Drill and blast coordination
  • Production planning and reporting
  • Budget development and cost management
  • Performance metrics and data analysis
  • Microsoft Office Suite
