Columbia Grain International, LLC. is a long time established full-service grain company in the grain and pulses business. We are headquartered in Portland, Oregon and own/operate over60 elevators and offices throughout WA, ID, MT, NE and ND to support our domestic and export sales program.

Position Description

The Millwright is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining multiple pieces of equipment, including bin gates,bucket elevators,distributors,drag belts/chains, bin sweeps, bulk weighers, Load out spouts, feeders, scalpers, conditioners, gravity tables, de-stoners, color sorters, and distribution systems.Millwrightworks collaboratively with the Operations Teamto achieve operational goals while maintaining safety, quality, and production efficiency.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery, production equipment, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment

  • Align motors, pumps, and gearboxes using precision measurement and alignment tools

  • Diagnose mechanical failures and equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency

  • Replace and repair bearings, belts, shafts, and other mechanical components as needed

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and conduct routine inspections to ensure proper equipment operation

  • Read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to complete maintenance and repair activities accurately

  • Assist with the installation, alignment, and startup of new machinery

  • Work collaboratively with electricians and maintenance teams on equipment repairs and operational support

  • Ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout procedures, OSHA standards, and all company safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain flexibility to work rotating days and nights, extended shifts, weekends, and holidays as production demands require

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience

  • Preferred qualifications include 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, millwright work, or mechanical technician roles

  • Knowledge of industrial machinery installation, setup, and precision alignment practices

  • Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred, including MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Knowledge of conveyor systems, gearboxes, rotating equipment, and related maintenance practices

  • Experience with bearing replacement, shaft alignment, and mechanical component repair

  • Ability to safely perform rigging and equipment moving activities

  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools, including dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers

  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures and OSHA safety standards applicable to industrial environments

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical manuals

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic computer proficiency and strong mechanical aptitude

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality workmanship, teamwork, reliability, and consistent attendance

  • Ability and willingness to perform all assigned duties in a fast-paced team environment

  • Periodic travel to various facilities as required

Physical Requirements necessary to perform this job

  • Must be ableto move freely throughout thefacilitiesto include climbing vertical heights (0-150'), walking on elevated platforms, carrying tools and equipment (0-50lbs), exposure to extreme temperatures (-30 to100 degreesFahrenheit), humidity (0-100%),andnoise (50db to 100bd).

  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs.

  • Exposure to extremeclimate temperatures, humidity and noise.

  • Must be able to work in high places and confined spaces.

  • Required towear protective equipment to include hard hat, safety glasses, protective footwear, gloves, coveralls, and other PPE as required.
