We are looking for a Journeyperson Maintenance Electrician located in Edmonton, AB. This is your opportunity to join a global technology company, driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.

What You Will Do:

  • Order and organize the materials needed for the task
  • Repair equipment, machines and building electrical
  • Installation of new electrical equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of machines including, but not limited to, Forges, CNC's, Industrial Furnaces, Straighteners and Shot Peeners
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge and/or experience on power systems up to 1000v, IGBT Drive systems, and multi-voltage AC and DC control systems
  • Complete associated paperwork
  • Supervision of Apprentice Electricians may be required
  • Prioritization of dispatch requests
  • Delegation of tasks
  • Assist with other maintenance trades as required
  • Follow Lean manufacturing guidelines
  • Work in a safe manner, follow all rules, regulations and legislation
  • Manage and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Fitness-to-work testing
  • Background check

Position Details:

  • Permanent
  • Full-time
  • Rotating shift work: Rotating between day and afternoon shifts Monday to Friday
  • Rotating Saturday shift work (once every 4-6 weeks)
  • Night shift may be required dependent on business conditions
  • In-town work/no travel required
  • Must have own hand tools

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Red seal Electrician ticket required
  • Dual ticketed tradesman would be considered an asset, specifically Millwright or Welding
  • Able to read and understand schematics, detailed OEM installation, and maintenance procedures
  • Understanding measuring equipment / tools
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Knowledge of Electrical Code
  • Mechanically inclined and/or willing to grow knowledge in mechanics role
  • Ability to supervise and multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Reliable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dual ticketed tradesperson would be considered an asset, specifically Millwright or Welding
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing Principles and Total Productive Maintenance
  • Knowledge in a variety of trades is extremely beneficial
  • Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and pneumatics experience
  • Knowledge and experience in welding (OAW, GMAW, MIG, SMAW)
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office, word, and access)
