What You'll Earn
  • $44.00-$48.00 per hour depending on experience
  • $1.50 per hour swing shift differential
  • $2.00 per hour graveyard shift differential
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half
  • $2,500+ referral bonuses
  • Profit sharing up to 3%
  • 401(k) with 100% employer match on the first 6% of contributions, fully vested on day one

What You'll Do
As a Millwright, you are responsible for ensuring mill equipment runs safely, reliably, and efficiently. Your day-to-day work includes:
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
โ€ข Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
โ€ข Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
โ€ข Maintain, install, repair, improve, and troubleshoot mill machinery including conveyor systems, saws, kilns, and de-barkers
โ€ข Diagnose machine performance issues and implement corrective solutions
Technical Expertise:
โ€ข Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
โ€ข Perform welding and fabrication to repair and modify equipment components
โ€ข Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
โ€ข Work alongside electricians on electrical systems and components
โ€ข Evaluate and test equipment efficiency, recommending improvements
Documentation & Communication:
โ€ข Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, parts inventory, and closing reports
โ€ข Proactively communicate with all departments to ensure proper operation of equipment
โ€ข Regularly educate maintenance and operations teams on evolving programs
Continuous Improvement:
โ€ข Continuously evaluate and analyze quality, safety, and production processes
โ€ข Identify and suggest new approaches or best practices to drive improvement
โ€ข Partner with machine operators to improve efficiency and reliability
โ€ข Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
Safety & Compliance:
โ€ข Follow and model strict safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards
โ€ข Make safety in the workplace the number one priority
โ€ข Work cross-functionally with production and leadership teams to keep the mill operating safely

Required Qualifications
Experience:
โ€ข Minimum 5 years of industrial equipment maintenance experience
โ€ข Sawmill operations experience preferred
Technical Skills:
โ€ข Proficient in mechanical systems: conveyor systems, saws, kilns, de-barkers
โ€ข Skilled in welding and fabrication for equipment repair and modification
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
โ€ข Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance and troubleshooting
โ€ข Basic understanding of electrical systems and electrical safety practices
โ€ข Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately
Work Style & Competencies:
โ€ข Team player with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
โ€ข Highly self-motivated and able to work independently
โ€ข Collaborative approach with willingness to mentor less experienced millwrights
โ€ข Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Other Requirements:
โ€ข Valid driver's license
โ€ข Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb stairs and ladders, and move equipment as needed
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Lift up to 50+ lbs., climb stairs and ladders, and work around industrial equipment
โ€ข Work safely around moving mechanical systems
โ€ข Comfortable in loud conditions with airborne sawdust
โ€ข Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor temperatures
โ€ข Flexibility to work non-standard hours or weekends when urgent maintenance needs arise
