Job description

With offices in Caguas, PR, Boston, MA & San Francisco, CA and we serve life sciences clients in six global markets: United States, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Germany, Canada, and South America.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, assemble, and repair machinery and/or parts of machinery including bearings, sheaves, pulleys,belts, etc.
  • Repair and replace defective machine parts including bearings, pump seals, valve seals, etc.
  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment including pump motors, fan motors, etc.
  • Align and adjust machinery moving parts for optimal performance including cooling towers, fan
  • alignments, conveying equipment, air damper systems and other equipment with rotating parts.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections and preventative maintenance on AHUs, fans, pumps, etc.
  • Work within and promote company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Review operational manuals, drawings, procedures and documents pertinent to equipment.
  • Interaction with EHS personnel for execution of activities such as LOTOs, elevated works, etc.
  • Hoisting and rigging of heavy equipment.
  • Trouble shoot and correct issues with equipment.
  • Maintain operational and stored equipment
  • Maintain accurate repairs and service records.
  • Test and adjust equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist other trades in completing projects.
  • Ensure quality work and customer satisfaction.
  • Document all executed activities on the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Comply with all assigned activities as per schedule.
EDUCATIONAL or EQUIVALENT REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE: 
  • High school diploma and/or associate degree.
  • Millwright and/or mechanical proficiencies needed.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of direct or indirect experience in pharmaceutical, R&D or similar life science industry specifically on maintenance or service provider teams.
  • At least 5 years of millwright or mechanical roles.
  • At least 5 years of in replacement of different type of bearings and seals for mechanical equipment (pumps, motors, etc.).
  • Knowledge of:

o Utilities equipment (chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHU, etc.)

o Mechanical interventions (Equipment qualification and testing procedures.

o Safety on the workplace (LOTOs, permits, etc.)
