Job description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance operations within a fast-paced automotive interior components manufacturing environment. In this leadership role, you will oversee a team of maintenance technicians, drive preventative maintenance programs, and ensure all production equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems with the leadership skills to build a high-performing maintenance team and partner closely with production and engineering departments to meet plant goals.



Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of industrial maintenance technicians across all shifts
  • Establish clear performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and support ongoing training and certification
  • Coordinate shift coverage, on-call rotations, and work assignments to ensure 24/7 maintenance support
  • Oversee all daily maintenance and repair activities on production machinery for automotive interior components
  • Ensure rapid troubleshooting and resolution of electrical circuit, hydraulic system, and mechanical failures to minimize production downtime
  • Review, approve, and prioritize work orders, maintenance requests, and emergency repairs
  • Read, interpret, and ensure team proficiency with machine schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive preventative maintenance (PM) program across all production equipment
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), mean time between failures (MTBF), and PM compliance rates
  • Partner with engineering and production to lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action on recurring equipment issues
  • Manage maintenance department budget including labor, parts, and contractor costs; identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Oversee spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are stocked to minimize downtime risk
  • Source and manage vendor and contractor relationships for specialized repairs and equipment servicing
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, plant, and customer safety requirements
  • Lead and participate in safety audits, risk assessments, maintain records and incident investigations related to equipment and maintenance activities

Qualification

  • 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Proven expertise in electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical maintenance in a production environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Demonstrated success managing a preventative maintenance program in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required



Preferred

  • Experience in automotive or Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive components manufacturing
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
  • Associate’s degree, technical degree, or relevant trade certification (e.g., electrician journeyman, millwright).
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) such as SAP PM, Fiix, or eMaint.
  • Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) experience.
