Job description

Drake General Contractors is seeking an experienced and dependable Asphalt Pavement Equipment Operator to join our team in the Longview area. This position is responsible for operating paving and heavy equipment safely and efficiently on road construction, paving, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in asphalt operations, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate asphalt paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, loaders, milling machines, and other heavy equipment.
  • Assist with asphalt paving, patching, grading, and roadway maintenance projects.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of assigned equipment.
  • Work closely with paving crews, truck drivers, and supervisors to complete projects on schedule.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist with general labor duties when equipment operation is not needed.
  • Maintain punctual attendance and dependable work performance.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience operating asphalt paving or heavy construction equipment required.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving processes and roadway construction preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50+lbs and perform physical labor as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
