SUMMARY:

The Human Milk & Formula Technician is responsible for the safe receipt, storage, preparation, distribution, inventory and management of enteral nutrition (human milk, formula, additives). The Human Milk and Formula Technician adheres to preparation techniques in accordance with the infection control, sanitation and quality standards and regulations established by regulatory agencies and Grady policies and procedures. This position reports to the NICU clinical manager. No positions report to the Technician. The Technician will interact with NICU staff including physicians, nurses, unit clerks and the Clinical Nutrition department including Registered Dietitian.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Nutrition Science or 2 yrs equivelent experience in clinical lab tech formula room and/or milk lab
  • Bachelors Degree in Nutrition Science preferred
  • One (1) year of experience in clinical lab technician, formula room and/or milk lab.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Human Milk Technician Certification preferred
  • Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Certification preferred
