Job Description

The Cleanroom Assembler performs precision mechanical and electrical assembly of complex electro-mechanical products in a controlled cleanroom environment. You will work at a bench station, follow detailed prints and drawings on a computer, and build to daily quantity and quality goals using a variety of hand and power tools and inspection instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electro-mechanical products in a cleanroom environment according to daily assigned product types and build quantity goals.
  • Set up and work at a dedicated bench station where parts and tools are pre-arranged for each build.
  • Access and interpret engineering prints and assembly drawings on a computer to follow build instructions accurately.
  • Perform mechanical assembly using screws, bolts, framing, housings, and related hardware to construct structural components.
  • Perform electrical assembly by laying in wires, routing harnesses, and making precise electrical connections according to specifications.
  • Use hand and power tools, including impact drivers, manual and electric screwdrivers, and T-handle Allen wrenches, to complete assemblies safely and efficiently.
  • Measure and verify dimensions using metric and standard tape measures to ensure components meet specified tolerances.
  • Utilize precision quality inspection instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and thread gauges to check build tolerances, including .03 micron tolerances where required.
  • Inspect assemblies for conformance to mechanical, electrical, and cleanliness requirements and correct any nonconformances.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with cleanroom protocols and company standards.
  • Collaborate with a small team of assemblers and support staff to meet production schedules and quality targets.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and cleanroom procedures, including proper handling of tools, materials, and finished products.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5 years of technical assembly experience with full electro-mechanical builds in a production or similar environment.
  • 3–5 years of experience reading and interpreting assembly drawings and engineering prints.
  • 3–5 years of experience using hand and power tools, including impact drivers, manual and electric screwdrivers, and T-handle Allen wrenches (ball head and flat head).
  • 3–5 years of experience reading both metric and standard tape measures accurately.
  • 3–5 years of experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience working with height gauges, thread gauges, or similar quality inspection instruments.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances, including .03 micron tolerance applications.
  • Background working in a cleanroom or similarly controlled environment.
  • Mechanical assembly skills, including working with screws, bolts, framing, and housings.
  • Electrical assembly skills, including laying in wires and making electrical connections.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions from blueprints and drawings accessed via computer.
  • Proficiency using basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Experience assembling complex electro-mechanical systems for applications such as robotics, microelectronics, or medical devices.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection processes and documentation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort working in a team of 14–16 people within a structured production setting.

The environment emphasizes cleanliness, precision, and safety, with a dress code that includes closed-toe shoes, jeans, and T-shirts appropriate for a cleanroom production setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.85 - $21.85/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
