Job description

Project Manager – Structural Steel
Location: Fairbanks, AK
Pay: $70,000–$95,000 DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

TDL Staffing is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager – Structural Steel to support structural steel fabrication and construction projects in Fairbanks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating multiple moving parts of active construction projects while working closely with vendors, contractors, accounting teams, and project stakeholders.

In this position, you’ll support project planning, cost tracking, scheduling, vendor coordination, and project execution for structural steel projects from preconstruction through completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to support project planning and scheduling
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams throughout project execution
  • Support job costing and project tracking within SAGE accounting software
  • Assist with vendor and subcontractor coordination, pricing, and contract support
  • Analyze project scope, schedules, and site conditions to identify project risks and cost-saving opportunities
  • Support project teams with cost updates, change orders, and schedule coordination
  • Assist with contract reviews to ensure scope and budget alignment
  • Collaborate with estimating and accounting teams throughout the project lifecycle
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience with structural steel fabrication, installation, or related construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction project coordination, budgeting, and cost control practices
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software
  • Experience with SAGE construction software preferred
  • Familiarity with estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
  • Must be able to gain military base access (Real ID required)
  • Background screening is a part of the hiring process for this position
  • Must support a drug-free work environment
