Job description

Job Title: Structural Engineer (Aircraft Sustainment & Modernization)

Location: Oklahoma City, OK - Relocation assistance provided.

Duration: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Compensation: $140,000 - $155,000 per year annual salary.


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support an aircraft sustainment and modernization program. This role focuses on aircraft structural analysis, finite element modeling (FEA), airframe modifications, and lifecycle extension efforts for a critical U.S. Air Force platform.


Responsibilities

  • Perform structural and stress analysis of aircraft components and airframe modifications.
  • Develop and validate finite element models using industry-standard FEA tools.
  • Analyze aircraft loads, load paths, fatigue, and structural integrity.
  • Utilize OEM and test data to evaluate structural performance and airworthiness.
  • Work from CAD models to support engineering analysis and design solutions.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams on aircraft sustainment initiatives.
  • Prepare technical reports, analysis documentation, and engineering recommendations.
  • Support structural testing activities, including test planning and analysis validation.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of aerospace structural engineering experience (or 3+ years with a Master's degree).
  • Experience performing aircraft structural or stress analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
    • FEMAP
    • Nastran
    • Patran
    • ANSYS
    • Abaqus
  • Experience working with CAD tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, NX, or Creo.
  • Ability to create and modify finite element models using OEM load data or structural test data.
  • Active Secret Clearance


Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Military aircraft, Boeing, or aircraft sustainment experience.
  • Fatigue, fracture mechanics, damage tolerance, or crack growth analysis experience.
  • Structural testing, test plan development, and qualification testing experience.
  • Experience with non-destructive inspection (NDI/NDT) and failure investigations.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
