Job description

Family Nurse Practitioner – Westwood | $50,000 Sign-On Bonus 

Northeastern Rural Health Clinics – Westwood, California 

Position Summary 

Northeastern Rural Health Clinics (NRHC) is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner to lead our primary care clinic in Westwood, California. 

This is a small, close-knit clinic where the FNP can build lasting relationships with patients and become an important part of the community. The position offers a high level of clinical autonomy, along with the support and resources of NRHC’s larger healthcare team. 

The FNP will provide primary care to patients across the lifespan, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and treatment of common illnesses and injuries. Providers typically see approximately 18 patients per day. 

The selected FNP will also have the opportunity to help manage the clinic, including supporting the clinic team, helping guide daily operations, and making decisions based on the needs of the patients and community. These additional responsibilities come with an annual clinic management stipend of$18,000. 

This is a full-time position with scheduling flexibility. There are no weekend clinic hours or on-call responsibilities. 

Compensation and Benefits 

  • Full-time salary of$128,000–$168,000 

  • Additional$18,000 annual clinic management stipend 

  • $50,000 sign-on bonus, depending on eligibility 

  • Relocation assistance up to$10,000 

  • 40 hours of paid CME time annually 

  • $2,000 annual CME allowance

About NRHC 

NRHC is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center that has served Lassen County and the surrounding area for nearly 50 years. We are the largest provider of outpatient healthcare services in Lassen County, with clinics in Susanville and Westwood. 

Life in Westwood

Westwood is a small Lassen County community located between Susanville and Chester, approximately seven miles from the eastern shore of Lake Almanor. The area is surrounded by forests, mountains, lakes, and trails, with year-round opportunities for fishing, boating, hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. 

With a population of approximately 1,500, Westwood offers the close-knit feel of a truly rural community. For a healthcare provider, it is an opportunity to know your patients, understand the community you serve, and see the difference your work makes.

Qualifications 

  • Current California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses, or the ability to obtain them 

  • Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner 

  • Furnishing number and DEA registration, or the ability to obtain them 

  • Current BLS certification, or the ability to obtain it 

  • Ability to meet NRHC credentialing and privileging requirements 

  • Five or more years of clinical experience preferred 

  • Comfortable practicing with a high level of autonomy in a rural primary care setting 

  • Interest in clinic leadership and day-to-day operations 

  • Commitment to providing quality care to rural and underserved patients
