Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support our core banking mainframe environment. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across z/OS, MQ, CICS, IMS, DB2, and Hogan technologies, driving platform stability, resiliency, and operational excellence. You will lead the resolution of complex production issues, support critical infrastructure initiatives, and help reduce operational risk through automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business

  • Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions

  • Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements

  • Drive solutions to reduce recovery

  • Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations

  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices

  • Design complex system upgrades

  • Resolve troublesome trends as they develop

  • Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring

  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience supporting IBM z/OS mainframe environments

  • Strong hands-on experience with: IBM z/OS, CICS, IMS, DB2, and Mainframe and infrastructure technologies

  • 4+ years of experience of MQ support experience

  • 4+ years of experience building, troubleshooting, and executing JCL

  • Direct experience supporting Hogan applications and associated infrastructure is a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience working in highly regulated financial services environments

Job Expectations:

  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the Mainframe environment, ensuring platform stability, resiliency, and performance

  • Support, maintain, and enhance mission-critical mainframe infrastructure technologies, including z/OS, MQ, CICS, IMS, DB2, and related middleware components

  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex production incidents, service degradations, and critical outages impacting Hogan applications and supporting infrastructure

  • Participate in a rotating 24 x 7 on-call support schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to provide rapid response and recovery for critical production incidents

  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and develop sustainable solutions that improve platform reliability and reduce operational risk

  • Partner closely with application development teams, production support teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions

  • Support change management activities, including change planning, implementation, validation, and post-implementation reviews for critical banking systems

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex incidents and restore service quickly

  • Experience implementing monitoring, automation, and operational stability improvements

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, resiliency, business continuity, and high-availability concepts

  • Experience reducing recurring production issues through root cause analysis and remediation

  • Proven track record of resolving complex technical challenges

  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and share institutional knowledge

  • Strong collaboration skills across application, platform, infrastructure, and business teams

  • Experience influencing technical decisions and driving operational improvements

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$87,000.00 - $140,000.00
