Job description

Located within walking distance of Nationwide Arena and the trendy Arena District, Hyatt Regency Columbus redefines the modern hotel experience. We offer 633 renovated guest rooms and spacious suites and 70,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. We are connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center and steps to the Short North Arts District, ours is the hotel in which to meet and play in downtown Columbus.

Because we are looking for a Banquet Cook!
This is a full-time role with a typical schedule of AM-mid-shift coverage - typical shift is 5:30am-2pm
What does the ROLE entail?
  • Produce a consistent, quality product that meets and exceeds the guests' expectations in a timely manner
  • Professional knowledge of cooking ingredients, procedures and experience in the culinary world
  • This position will work single stations in the kitchen and require significant supervision and training
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized workspace
  • Responsible for communicating and working successfully in a team environment
  • This position also assists other cooks to ensure that Event Orders are prepped and prepared
  • This role will require use of ovens, fryers, flat tops, tilt skillets, and steamers to produce and mix hot food items for banquets ranging from 10 people to 1,000
  • Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation
  • Demonstrates Hyatt Values: Empathy, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, Experimentation, Wellbeing

Your EXPERIENCE:
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced, team oriented, environment
  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred
  • 1-3 years of previous banquet line experience preferred
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking skills
  • Able to work single station in the kitchen
  • Takes pride in a job well done
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including, weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays
  • A fun and energized person with a creative mindset
