Nemean Solutions, headquartered in Sierra Vista, AZ, is a certified SBA 8(a) Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO) and veteran-operated company providing advanced Military Intelligence, Enterprise and Cloud IT services, Cybersecurity, Special Operations Forces (SOF) Exercise and Training, and niche Program Support and Professional Services to Federal and State Agencies supporting the US Government Defense, Intelligence and Aerospace sectors.


Job Overview:

The System Analyst will support software development across multiple defense systems and platforms (including the Multiple Launch Rocket System [MLRS]) through Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of software documents, contractual statements of work, test procedures, and qualification test results. Particular attention is paid to ensure that all software safety requirements across these systems are properly defined, mapped against the correct hazards, and tested to a sufficient Level of Rigor (LOR).


Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and Review Safety Assessments: Execute comprehensive safety assessments and hazard analyses on complex software systems to identify potential failure modes and software-system interactions.
  • Verify Safety Requirement Implementation: Evaluate and validate safety requirements, software design constraints, and implementation guidelines within the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure compliance with military safety standards (e.g., MIL-STD-882E).
  • Collaborate with Safety Stakeholders: Partner with Software Safety Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), program offices, and developer safety teams to ensure rigorous safety considerations are seamlessly integrated into all phases of the SDLC.
  • Perform Verification & Validation (V&V): Execute software safety V&V activities to independently confirm that safety-critical software performs as intended and fails safely under stress or anomalous conditions.
  • Technical Review & Design Advisory: Actively participate in system design reviews, milestone reviews, and technical exchange meetings, providing actionable engineering recommendations to improve overall software safety, architecture, and robustness.
  • Execute Core Safety Deliverables & Artifact Reviews: Independently perform, assess, and maintain the following critical system safety artifacts and tracking matrices: SSA – System Safety Assessments, SAR – Safety Assessment Reports, FHA – Functional Hazard Analyses, HTS / HTL – Hazard Tracking Sheets / Logs, SSHAR – Software/System Safety Hazard Analysis Reports and LOR Table – Level of Rigor mapping and compliance tables.
  • Maintain Professional Expertise: Stay continuously updated on the latest advancements, regulatory updates, and emerging methodologies in software safety engineering and military airworthiness/safety policies.
  • Represent IV&V in Key Program Forums: Prepare for and actively participate in recurring weekly, bi-weekly, and milestone technical meetings, including but not limited to: IPR – In-Process Reviews, SSWG / SSFRG – System/Software Safety Working Groups and Hazard Review Groups.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements/Education:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with requirements management software (e.g., DOORS).
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-464 environmental test standards; basic statistics and test methodology.
  • Security+ preferred but not required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to contractual requirements.
