Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The EMT Basic Specialist works under the direction of the Registered Nurse, Manager Patient Care and or Supervisor, Nursing. Promotes and exemplifies the mission and values of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis and supports the goals of OSF Healthcare System; performs clerical and clinical duties essential to the facilitation of delivery and quality of patient care; under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Manager Patient Care and or Supervisor, Nursing, and Emergency Department Physician or Mid-Level Provider.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: High School Diploma/ GED
  • Licensure/ Certification:
    • Current certification by the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
    • Must complete any training and other requirements specific to the position within 3 months of entering the position possess equivalent education/training i.e., 12 lead EKG generation, etc.
    • State of Michigan licensed EMT Basic or Specialist or Medical First Responder
  • Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: 1 year previous experience as EMT Basic or Specialist or Medical First Responder.
