Job description

Company Description

For more than 40 years, LGI has been developing software solutions for the healthcare sector. Today, AI is at the core of how we build software and the next generation of our solutions, not as an end in itself, but as a powerful enabler of our mission: helping healthcare organizations improve their performance.

We are looking for exceptional talent, people who are passionate about technology, naturally curious, and driven by high standards. Individuals for whom exploring and innovating are second nature, and who want to apply their skills to a mission that goes beyond writing code to positively influence decisions, processes, and ultimately, patient care.

We are committed to diversity and equal employment opportunities for everyone. If you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please let us know.

Job Description

At LGI, AI is a key pillar of our acceleration strategy to transform how administrative software is designed and developed for Quebec's healthcare network. AI tools, models, and development practices are evolving rapidly, and we're looking for ambitious, curious, and passionate people who can learn quickly and continuously adapt. What matters most is your ability to learn, experiment, and deliver with the help of AI.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain application modules using AI in a technical environment that includes C/C++, C#/.NET, and Oracle (PL/SQL).
  • Generate, validate, and continuously improve unit tests with AI assistance while critically evaluating their relevance and coverage.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation using AI tools.
  • Participate in code reviews with a critical eye toward AI-generated code.
  • Quickly explore and understand an existing codebase using AI to become productive and autonomous as rapidly as possible.
  • Develop AI-augmented features and contribute to the design of AI models or integrations as needed.
  • Stay current on AI tools, models, and best practices, and actively share your learnings with the team.
  • Take ownership of your deliverables from understanding business requirements through testing, documentation, and production deployment.
  • Adhere to compliance standards related to Quebec's Law 25 and the Act Respecting Health and Social Services (LSSSS), in accordance with established team guidelines.
  • Act as a Level 3 resource for production and operational support.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum team members—including Business Analysts, Developers, and the Product Owner—to successfully deliver projects.
  • Demonstrate leadership that promotes continuous improvement of processes and effective coordination across teams.

How You'll Use AI

  • Generate, complete, and understand code using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and similar tools.
  • Generate unit test cases and critically evaluate their relevance and coverage.
  • Produce technical documentation from existing code.
  • Analyze error messages, logs, and stack traces, using AI alongside profiling and debugging tools to accelerate troubleshooting.
  • Explore and map unfamiliar codebases to become productive quickly.
  • Write precise prompts, refine them iteratively, recognize when AI-generated output is inadequate, and know when to take over manually.
  • Rapidly adopt new AI tools or models whenever they provide measurable productivity gains.
    Qualifications

What We're Looking For Above All

    Essential

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing in C/C++ and C#/.NET.
    • Strong knowledge of Oracle databases (PL/SQL).
    • Experience with Visual Studio 2022/2026.
    • A fast, self-directed learner who explores, experiments, and grows independently, without needing step-by-step guidance, and who adapts quickly as technologies evolve.
    • Daily use of AI development tools, with the ability to demonstrate measurable productivity gains achieved through their use.
    • Experience using Git or other version control systems in a collaborative development environment.
    • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs, including code, tests, and technical documentation.
    • Strong intellectual curiosity, an interest in complex systems and architectures, and a genuine desire to understand how things are built.
    • Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
    • Solid foundations in object-oriented programming and algorithmic thinking.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills—you can clearly explain your reasoning, ask for help when needed, and contribute effectively to technical discussions.
    • Desire to work in a regulated environment, such as digital healthcare.
    • Ambition to continuously grow and advance your career.
    • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with multiple programming languages.
    • Experience developing enterprise B2B software solutions.
    • Experience designing and developing database-driven applications.
    • Experience developing cloud-based solutions.
    • Experience building AI-augmented product features as a primary responsibility. Depending on the project phase, this may also include integrating AI models or working with AI-driven data techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
    • Personal projects, open-source contributions involving AI, active GitHub repositories, or experimentation outside of work are highly valued.
    • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
    • Experience with DevExpress.
    • Experience with Citrix Server.
    • Experience with Java.
    • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
    • Knowledge of Human Resources (HR) management processes and systems.
    • Knowledge of the Quebec healthcare sector.

    Additional Information

    Why Join LGI?

    • A work environment built on trust, autonomy, and collaboration.
    • The opportunity to grow, excel, and work alongside talented, curious colleagues.
    • A culture of continuous learning, with dedicated time for professional development, access to a recognized learning platform, and cutting-edge tools.
    • Meaningful and challenging projects that help advance healthcare technology and support the work of more than 320,000 healthcare professionals, benefiting over 6 million patients.
    • A comprehensive benefits package, including group insurance from your first day, an employer-matched group retirement savings plan (RRSP), 24/7 telemedicine, an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), and a minimum of three weeks of vacation each year.

At LGI Healthcare Solutions, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and providing equal employment opportunities for all.
