BluePath Labs is looking for a Mid-level Software Developer to support our team at the Army Cyber Institute (ACI) in West Point, NY. This is a critical and exciting opportunity at the intersection of advanced research in artificial intelligence and cyberspace capabilities, and the latest data science, data engineering, and software development technologies. This effort will have direct operational relevance. The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of successfully working in a collaborative environment. They will be working with leading Army researchers and programs and partners throughout the US Government. This position will start immediately.

Work Description:

The Mid-Level Full Stack Software Developer will support the Army Cyber Institute by designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining production-ready desktop and web-based applications. This role will work with researchers, developers, designers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend technical approaches, and build user-friendly software that supports ACI research mission tasks and Army Cyber Mission Force requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong full stack development experience, proficiency in JavaScript and Python, experience with tools such as Docker, Flask, React, Svelte, and PlotlyDash, and knowledge of SQL databases, TCP/UDP network protocols, testing, and computer and network security principles.

Responsibilities: The Mid-Level Full Stack Software Developer will support tasks such as:

  • Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.
  • Will work both alone and as part of a team with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high quality software solutions.
  • Build appropriate desktop or web-based applications with user friendly interfaces.
  • Build products that are ready for production.
  • Work described herein will contribute to ACI research mission tasks and Army Cyber Mission Force research requirements.
  • Design and implement software applications.
  • Interact with stakeholders to elicit software requirements.
  • Analyze requirements to produce a recommended approach for the design of the software application.
  • Build appropriate unit and integration tests.
  • Provide ongoing support to existing software applications by providing updates as changes or fixes are requested by stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (CS), software engineering (SE), computer engineering (CE), electrical engineering (EE), information systems (ISYS), or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Primary proficiency in JavaScript & Python.
  • Demonstrated professional experience with Docker, Flask, React, Svelte, & PlotlyDash.
  • Secondary proficiency in at least one language from the following list:
    • Java
    • C#
    • C
    • C++
    • Rust
  • Basic understanding of ML frameworks and technologies.
  • Experience in writing programs that interact with SQL databases and programs that communicate over TCP/UDP network protocols using sockets.
  • Knowledge of computer and network security principles.
  • Articulate, adaptable, and able to work with a variety of researchers and professionals in academia, government, and industry.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret level clearance.
