Job description

Background:
  • The client currently runs on SAP ECC and are in need of an SAP Project Systems Solution Architect to help them with expanding their current PS capabilities.

Project:
  • The SAP Project Systems Solution Architect will be working on the clients SAP PS system.
  • This project will not be from scratch. They do utilize some components of SAP PS but not all the capabilities.
  • The SAP PS Solution Architect will be designing and proposing the new capabilities that the client should implement for SAP Project Systems.
  • Ideally, the SAP PS Solution Architect will come from a functional background and understand configuration but they will not be doing any configuration.
  • They will be working on the integrations between PS, Design Engineering (BOMs), MM (Procurement, IM and WM) and FICO (for cost tracking).
  • They will also work on the procurement concepts including contracts, scheduling agreements and other purchasing documents.
  • They must have experience with direct procurement and subcontracting along with MRP and vendor collaboration tools.
  • The SAP Project Systems Solution Architect will work with the project team and business team to understand the ways they would like to use PS and the strategic focus on how it would work properly for them.
  • They will not execute the design themselves.
  • They must be comfortable demonstrating in the clients SAP system how they should go ahead and implement the new components.
  • They must have multiple FLCs of PS from a functional standpoint and be comfortable being in a position to offer opinions and explanations without actually going in and changing the system in current time but will demonstrate suggestions and enhancements in sandbox and not in production.
  • Should the client decide to follow through with the optimization and suggestions from the SAP PS Solution Architect and depending on suggestions and direction of organization, this consultant could continue on with implementing the said suggestions, so ideally they will feel comfortable if chosen.

Required:
  • SAP Project Systems Solution Architect
  • Functional Background
  • Multiple FLCs of PS
  • Engineering, Design and Construction experience in SAP is a requirement
  • Functional Architect Level Experience in the following SAP areas:
  • Project Systems
  • Integrations between PS, Design Engineering (BOMs), MM (Procurement, IM, and WM), and FICO (for cost tracking)
  • Procurement concepts including contracts, scheduling agreements, and other purchasing documents
  • Experience with direct procurement and subcontracting
  • MRP
  • Vendor Collaboration tools
