Job description

Title: Repair Technician – Radio Communications

Location: 6301 HAZELTINE NATIONAL DRIVE, Orlando, FL - 32822

Duration: 6 months with possible extension - Temp to hire role

Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Overtime: need to be available to work ot when needed

Must be a U.S. citizen

Interview: 1 Onsite interview (1 Hour)

Experience Level: Mid-Level (4–7 Years)

Please note: Must be able to pass a background check conducted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Preferred: Candidates who already possess security clearance are strongly encouraged to apply, as this is considered a plus during vetting.

Must-Have Qualifications

Computer repair experience

Radio repair experience

3–5 years of experience in radio repair

Familiarity with Google and/or Windows platforms

CET certification

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Repair Technician to join our team, specializing in radio communications equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in depot-level radio repair, troubleshooting, upgrades, and programming. This role requires a strong understanding of telecommunications systems, mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on two-way radios and related communication equipment.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using industry-standard procedures.

• Program radios according to customer specifications and operational requirements.

• Clean and refurbish equipment to meet quality standards.

• Document repair activities, including serial numbers, model numbers, and feature sets.

• Maintain accurate records of service and repair logs.

• Utilize test equipment such as Digital Volt Meters (DVM), Service Monitors, and Watt Meters.

• Follow established procedures and safety protocols during all repair and testing activities.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in radio repair or a related technical field.

• Strong knowledge of radio systems is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with telecommunications test equipment and diagnostic tools.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Mechanically inclined with the ability to disassemble and reassemble electronic devices.

• Solid computer skills and ability to navigate software interfaces.

• Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.

• Ability to work independently and follow technical procedures accurately.

Preferred Skills

• FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) or equivalent certification.

• Experience with RF systems and signal testing.

• Prior work in a radio depot or service center environment.

No degree required for FTE conversion

Must pass CET (Certified Electronic Technician) exam

CET certification is a strong plus
