Your Role
As a Job Captain in our New York office your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. With you as part of the design team, architecture has never been so engaging.
What You Will Do
  • Partner with Project Architect to produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of project
  • Provide project team coordination for incorporating design intent into the construction documentation
  • Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Utilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts

Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 5-8 years of post-graduation experience
  • Experience with Critical Facilities (i.e. data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing, etc.) or similarly complex projects required
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Proficient in Revit, Rhino, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software
  • LEED accreditation preferred

**The base salary range will be estimated between $82-95k. Gensler's total compensation package is multi-layered and includes a base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and profit sharing.
