Asplundh Engineering Services provides superior, full service professional engineering, engineering support, equipment procurement, and automation controls integration-from planning and design to implementation and commissioning. AES-Ambler's in-house panel shop allows custom control design/build manufacturing. We have been delivering reliable design of complex electrical systems for over 20 years and are a pioneer in the development of engineering and controls automation.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Engineering site surveys and analysis
  • Feasibility studies
  • Load studies and energy analysis
  • Computer Aided Drafting
  • Computer Aided Drafting Quality Control
  • Detailed design of power distribution systems, including but not limited to:
    • Medium voltage protective relaying
    • Service entrance switchboards
    • Engine generators
    • Uninterruptible power supply systems
    • Monitoring and controls systems
    • Lighting and lighting control systems
    • Fire alarm and security systems
  • Develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, and electrical & instrument diagrams (E&IDs)
  • Perform equipment selections, load calculations, control diagrams, systems narratives, commissioning planning and execution, and creating specification documents
  • Utilize basic engineering principles and practical design solutions
  • Assist in the development and review of custom designs and sequences
  • Develop and implement integrated systems testing procedures and commissioning
  • Assist with Project management to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Work with Clients, Salesman, Managers and Engineers to coordinate project designs
  • Work with sub-consultant(s) to coordinate trades
  • Attend job meetings & coordinate activities as required
  • Attend training as requested to further enhance your duties

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding initiative, a well-organized and strong sense of responsibility
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
  • Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards, vendors, and technologies as they relate to the consulting engineering industry

Education & Experience:
  • Two to five years of experience
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Basic knowledge of electrical design concepts and techniques
  • Experience with REVIT is an advantage

License & Certifications:
  • Driver's License Preferred, but not required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License

Travel:
Occasional overnight stays and local day travel may be necessary. You will be responsible for providing your own transportation to and from the office and job sites. You will be reimbursed for business expenses such as tolls, parking and business-related mileage at a rate allowable by government standards. The expenses incurred traveling to and from the office are excluded from reimbursement.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
