Job description

Hardware Design Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to design, develop, test, and support digital, analog, and mixed-signal electronic hardware. You''''ll collaborate with senior engineers throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and schematic design through prototype bring-up, testing, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Design electronic circuits and develop schematics using Altium Designer (or equivalent).
  • Support PCB bring-up, hardware debugging, and root-cause analysis.
  • Perform component selection, engineering calculations, and design reviews.
  • Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and digital multimeters.
  • Prepare engineering documentation and support prototype and production builds.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

Preferred Experience

Experience in some of the following is a plus:

  • Digital, analog, and mixed-signal design
  • FPGA development (AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or Microchip PolarFire)
  • Embedded systems
  • High-speed interfaces (Ethernet, USB, SPI, I²C, UART, PCIe, DDR, LVDS)
  • PCB layout
  • Python or other scripting languages
  • Signal integrity fundamentals

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 2–5 years of hardware design experience
  • Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD software
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic hardware to the component level
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • FPGA, embedded software, or PCB layout experience
  • Python scripting and Git
  • Medical, aerospace, or defense electronics experience
  • Soldering and prototype rework experience
