The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades and labor work for the Squadron Infrastructure Flight.
Qualifications:In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4700 General Equipment Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. The ideal candidate exhibits exceptional organizational leadership, capable of aligning the daily efforts of multiple maintenance shops with the strategic objectives of the installation command. They are adept at resolving complex personnel issues, forecasting workforce requirements, and mentoring mid-level supervisors to build a highly effective and resilient maintenance organization. They do not need to be the foremost technical expert in every single trade, but they must possess the broad technical acumen required to evaluate complex infrastructure failures, review engineering blueprints, and determine the most effective multi-trade approach to Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM) projects. They effectively balance reactive (emergency) repairs with highly structured Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs across a massive footprint of facilities. They are highly proficient in utilizing advanced Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, analyze maintenance trends, and optimize labor allocation. Furthermore, they play a critical role in budget execution, forecasting material costs, determining when to utilize in-house labor versus initiating contract support, and ensuring that all maintenance activities remain within authorized funding limits.
