Job description

Position Description
The Marketing Operations Specialist has a high level of technical knowledge and experience in one or more IT-related areas for the organization. This position's scope of responsibility includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of software applications, customized applications, systems support, and websites, etc. This position assists the Lead Marketing Operations Strategist in the implementation and effective utilization of marketing technology platforms to support operational goals. This position uses operational knowledge to help enhance business effectiveness, follow workflows and contribute to strategic communications outcomes.
Major/Essential Functions
  • Supports and assists operational workflows for marketing and communications projects.
  • Supports marketing operations systems by implementing and supporting technologies and by carrying out other tasks related to Marketing & Communications processes and policies.
  • Assists in the implementation, utilization and support of marketing technology platforms, including on-demand technical assistance to Marketing & Communications employees.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for marketing operations processes, technology implementations and best practices.
  • Ensures operational alignment between marketing strategies and technological capabilities.
  • Supports set up of workstations, including, but not limited to, contributing to computer inventory and surplus, software installation, hardware diagnostics, computer encryption, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues for Mac and PC systems.
  • Facilitate operational integration between marketing platforms, CRM systems and content management tools.
  • Provide hardware and software support and maintenance, including, but not limited to, laptops, printers and lab equipment.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to enhance productivity.
  • Train team members on operational protocols, workflow systems and technology platforms.
  • Help implement new marketing operations, processes or technologies.
  • Interface with Information Technology as needed to troubleshoot or implement technical requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • IT Systems Administration experience
  • Experience in project coordination
  • Experience with content management platforms and analytics tool
  • Ability to interface with IT experts in various departments across campus
  • Well-spoken and level headed.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus five years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience.
