Job description

Venable LLP's Antitrust Group is seeking a mid-level antitrust associate with a minimum of three years of experience to join the practice in the Washington, DC office.

Our Antitrust practice seeks a talented mid-level to senior antitrust associate with broad-based experience across the full spectrum of antitrust law - everything from high-stakes litigation to government investigations to strategic counseling with confidence and sound judgment. As a key member of our team, you will also represent complex antitrust litigation, defending clients in high-profile matters that often involve multi-district proceedings and parallel government investigations. You will also represent clients before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Justice (DOJ), and state attorneys general in both conduct investigations - such as alleged price-fixing, market allocation, and monopolization - and merger investigations involving transactions that raise competitive concerns. In addition to advocacy, you'll provide strategic counseling on a wide range of antitrust issues, including distribution practices, competitive collaborations, and non-compete arrangements. You'll also help clients proactively manage risk by developing and delivering compliance programs and training sessions, including presentations to C-suite executives and boards.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of substantive antitrust experience in a leading antitrust practice. Strong writing and analytical skills, as well as litigation and advocacy skills, combined with deep knowledge of antitrust law and enforcement trends, are essential. Experience engaging directly with the FTC and DOJ is strongly preferred, as is the ability to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy and sound business judgment. The successful candidate takes a practical, business-oriented approach to solving complex legal problems, communicates clearly and effectively, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
