A Mid Full Stack Software Developer is a professional with several years of experience who is capable of working on both the front-end and back-end of web applications. They are skilled in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, allowing them to handle tasks such as designing user interfaces, developing server-side logic, managing databases, and integrating APIs. Mid-level developers typically work under minimal supervision, contribute to architectural decisions, and may mentor junior developers. They play a crucial role in ensuring that applications are functional, efficient, and scalable.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Mid Full Stack Software Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Mid Full Stack Software Developer, you need solid programming skills in both frontend (e.g., JavaScript, React) and backend (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java) technologies, along with a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is typically important, and certifications in these areas can be advantageous. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication skills help you collaborate across teams and translate requirements into robust solutions. These abilities are critical for delivering end-to-end, scalable software products that meet business goals and user expectations.

Job description

Title: Full Stack Software Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA
We are seeking highly motivated, collaborative, and technically strong Full Stack Software Engineers to join our Enterprise Technology Application Development team at a well-known tech firm. The selected candidates will play a key role in building and maintaining a portfolio of internal business systems that support critical operational workflows across multiple domains within the organization.
This is an exceptional opportunity for engineers who thrive in high-ownership environments and enjoy working across systems, architectures, and technologies. The role is best suited for engineers with strong technical fundamentals, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to contribute effectively with minimal ramp-up in unfamiliar domains.
Our application portfolio is built on a consistent and opinionated architectural foundation, enabling engineers to move between systems while maintaining high standards for code quality, maintainability, and operational reliability. The selected candidates will work closely with senior engineering leadership and help coordinate delivery execution with distributed offshore development resources.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Build and deliver full-stack software features across backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend applications.
Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot backend services supporting production business applications.
Build React and TypeScript user interfaces aligned to shared platform and design standards.
Design and implement relational database models, schema migrations, and API integrations.
Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture decisions, technical implementation, and delivery planning.
Abilities:
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern full-stack development practices.
Strong proficiency with React and TypeScript frontend development.
Solid understanding of relational database design and PostgreSQL development.
Experience with Docker-based containerization and modern CI/CD workflows.
Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems, codebases, and architectural patterns.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate effectively in distributed engineering environments.
Experience integrating with financial systems, operational platforms, or enterprise business applications is advantageous.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience is required.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
