Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager of Utilities to join our leadership team at a major plant operation. This role offers direct visibility to senior executives and the opportunity to drive critical capital projects that support long-term infrastructure and sustainability goals.

The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate utility-related projects from concept through completion. This includes managing budgets, design, bidding, construction, and compliance. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and institutional stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Capital project leadership – Drive annual sustaining CAPEX maintenance projects to completion.
  • Project oversight – Manage design, bid, construction, and contract administration for utility facilities.
  • Cross-functional collaboration – Partner with institutional staff and external contractors to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Budget & compliance – Develop and administer program budgets, AFEs, and reporting.
  • Conflict resolution – Resolve engineering and construction challenges, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Continuous improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery methods and procedures.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in project management or supervisory roles.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong foundation in engineering principles (civil, structural, electrical, mechanical).
  • Expertise in contract administration, estimating, and program development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.
