Overview
Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the World's largest Cloud Infrastructures, responsible for powering all Microsoft online Products and Services as well as powering Microsoft's "Cloud First" mission. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide, and we are looking for passionate Principal Execution Program Manager to help achieve our mission.
We are looking for an experienced Principal Execution Program Manager with deep technical and business effectiveness, trusted leadership and demonstrated large-scale program management success. You should have industry knowledge, technical depth in the planning, data review and execution of data centers, and have executive presence to lead complex and time sensitive initiatives.
In this role, the successful candidate will partner closely with key engineering leaders to drive programs focused on transforming how we deliver data centers to our customers. These programs will be on the leading edge of innovation and will include driving pilots and other first of kind programs that shape ongoing strategy in delivering data centers efficiently and on schedule. You balance effective analytical and technical skills with the ability to influence decision makers within the CO+I leadership and execution teams spread across the rest of Azure. You will also partner closely with related teams including our design engineering, construction, networking and data center project management teams.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management AND 15+ years experience in planning, project management, and execution across large-scale complex organizations OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Demonstrates deep subject matter expertise on key functional areas of engineering, procurement, construction, mechanical, electrical, networking, and building automation systems.
  • Comfortable working at the Executive level within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Experience driving execution with large complex infrastructure projects.
  • Technical program management experience managing scope, schedule, budget, contracts, quality, people, risk, and communications.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with large and diverse teams.
  • Understanding of business and financial objectives

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
