Role Overview: 

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Company’s Viewpoint platform. Viewpoint is the Company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system used for all finance, supply chain, and field and service operations. 

Acting as the ERP owner, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between business requirements and the Viewpoint system. You will collaborate closely with the various departments that utilize the platform to understand their workflow needs and translate these requirements into efficient solutions within the ERP.  You will enhance the value, stability, and usability of Vista Viewpoint across Bassett Mechanical.  The position reports to the Director of Enterprise Planning and Business Analytics and operates within the Bassett Transformation Office (BTO) to drive digital transformation outcomes and reinforce standard work, internal controls, and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for the ERP system.
  • Helping to manage the changes associated with implementing new ERP modules or enhancements and formalizing change management and adoption metrics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and implement changes to the platform.
  • Configure the platform to meet organizational needs.
  • Support report and dashboard creation to drive data-driven decision making and identify trends.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and training to users, ensuring they can effectively utilize the platform to enhance productivity and collaboration.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure smooth operation of the platform.
  • Work directly with Viewpoint support and consultants to resolve system problems and implement enhancements.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits of data and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate the ERP system with other business applications.
  • Stay updated on new features and capabilities to suggest improvements and drive innovation.

Other Responsibilities:

Serve as a key supporting member within the company’s Bassett Transformation Office (BTO), which was established as a department to help accelerate the company’s digital transformation. As a part of the BTO, you will partner with the Director of Enterprise Planning and Business Analytics to:

  • Assess, design, develop, implement, and test opportunities identified by the BTO Operating Committee to improve existing systems and/or processes.
  • When needed, conduct interviews with end users and other key stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of the current and future state.
  • Establish effective connections and partnerships with the company’s IT Department, process/system owners, end users, and other stakeholders. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is critical.
  • As part of implementation efforts, ensure adequate documentation of work instructions, SOPs, and training materials. 

Summary of Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred (will consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
  • Experience in Viewpoint or similar platforms (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience providing support within software applications and systems, including experience working with ERP systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience creating dashboards and reports (Microsoft Power BI experience preferred).
  • Solid understanding of project management principles and workflow automation.
  • Experience with software integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
