You Will Excel in This Role If You Are
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable owning the full accounting lifecycle
  • Experienced in government contracting environments and compliant accounting practices
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities without losing accuracy
  • Confident mentoring junior accounting staff and collaborating cross-functionally
  • Someone who values integrity, accountability, and doing things the right way

A Day in the Life
  • Plan and direct day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring compliance with GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, monitor daily cash balances, and support monthly close activities
  • Assist with audits, government contract reporting, and budget preparation, while maintaining accurate records for employees, vendors, and fixed assets
  • Support multiple entities across the organization, handling accounting activities tailored to each business unit
  • Mentor accounting staff and support leadership with financial insights and projections

Must Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of related professional accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with payroll processing systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience performing full-charge bookkeeping, including: Accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries and account reconciliations, and payroll processing and timecard review
  • Ability to prepare and support audit schedules
  • Experience maintaining accounting records, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules

Nice to Haves
  • Experience with government contracting and familiarity with FAR and CAS
  • Experience supporting DCAA reporting (Provisional/Final Billing Rates, Incurred Cost Submissions)
  • Experience using Unanet
