Job Summary:

As a Microsoft Azure engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy effective business solutions using Microsoft Azure and related technologies, while serving as a subject matter expert and delivering consulting engagements to clients.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a subject matter expert in Azure and Entra ID, with a deep understanding of both licensing and product functionality
• Leverage broad and deep technology knowledge to architect solutions that meet client business requirements, focusing on operational effectiveness and business value
• Deliver consulting engagements, manage customer expectations, and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Microsoft Azure services
• Exhibit strong communication skills to guide clients through projects with multiple work streams and resources
• Articulate the benefits of Azure products to technical teams and business leaders
• Enhance customer value and productivity using Azure technologies
• Gather and translate client business requirements into use cases for Azure solutions
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop winning strategies for clients
• Execute pre-sales functions to create solution designs
• Use effective whiteboard storytelling for client and team communication
• Create Bill of Materials and Statements of Work
• Implement post-sales solutions and aid in the customer adoption experience

• Ensure clients understand solution features, infrastructure, and operational implications
• Participate in technical speaking engagements for market strategies or related events
• Develop and grow Azure market opportunities and strategies
• Address customer technical challenges and design scalable and integrated solutions
• Actively participate in the CompuNet cloud strategy team meetings
• Resource cost estimation, analysis, and optimization
• Maintain existing certifications and pursue new relevant certifications
• Participate in team functions, including calls, meetings, and events, both remote and in-person
• Accept mentorship from Architects, Principal Engineers, and Senior Solutions Engineers
• Own the opportunity lifecycle, from pre-sales through solution delivery and ongoing optimization
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in IT systems development or consulting
• 5+ years of experience in designing solutions to solve business problems
• Demonstrated knowledge of Entra ID and Azure, with an emphasis on hybrid connectivity
• Deep experience with DNS
• Self-sufficient on IaaS migrations (strategy, migration planning, execution)
• Experienced with core PaaS services (App Services, Azure SQL Database, Storage accounts)
• Comfort outside of Azure Portal UI, familiar with basic coding practices (VS Code/git repos/etc.) and/or CLI/scripting
• Cloud-native networking basics (VNet components, peering, private endpoints, on-premises inter-connectivity)
• Networking technologies such as Fibre Channel, ethernet, iSCSI
• Identity fundamentals
• Storage fundamentals such as blob, file-level, network-attached, local storage, direct-attached, hierarchical, namespace, directory
• Comfort discussing application lifecycle
• Ability to consult on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
• Explain differences between Redundancy and Availability
• Administration and troubleshooting experience with server operating systems such as Windows and Linux
• Azure AZ-104 certification + (2) years industry experience as an Azure-focused engineer
• Explain each layer of the OSI model
• Explain differences between TCP and UDP traffic
• Experience in customer-facing roles with demonstrated capability in clearly presenting thoughts and ideas confidently to audiences of various sizes and technical knowledge levels
• Demonstrated aptitude for providing exceptional customer service in politically charged environments
• Ability to adapt to the customer's changing needs or requirements as they arise
• Ability to work independently with minimal management supervision and also as part of a global team of consultants and engineers
• Possess passion for continuous learning, strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and time management skills, and good judgment
• Ability to enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development of product-related intellectual capital and mentoring new hires
• Ability to apply knowledge to improve existing products and systems in the customer environment and for internal use
• Assist in developing strategies to gain additional business by communicating opportunities to sales teams

• Bachelor's Degree in related field: Cloud Computing, Information Systems, Computer Science, etc
• Understand best practices and impact of Azure vs. in-guest operating system configuration management
• At scale, understanding the financial and technical impact of differentiating storage sizing such as '-ibibytes' vs. '-abytes' (e.g. Tibibytes vs. Terabytes)
• Knowledge and practical application of all Azure access methods including Azure Portal, Azure CLI, PowerShell, Cloud Shell
• Understanding of Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization concepts
• Deep experience with hybrid DNS between on-premises and Azure
• Entra ID, Entra ID Connect, and Active Directory Domain Services administration and troubleshooting
• Practical relational and non-relational database architecture, querying, concepts, and troubleshooting
• Understand Service Level Indicators, Service Level Offering, and Service Level Agreement
• Identity management troubleshooting and best practices consulting
• Conditional Access troubleshooting
• Experience with Application Performance Management and observability platforms
• Experience with Security Information and Event Management tools
• Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response tools
• Experience Azure VMware Solution, Azure Files, and FSLogix
• Third-party Network Virtual Appliances
• Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty certification (AZ-140)
