Job description

About the Job

This role sits on the Chorus Engineering team in Toronto, working on mission-critical backend systems that power our conversation intelligence platform. You'll be a technical anchor on the team, setting standards, driving architecture, and elevating the engineers around you.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and deploy architecture and implementation of mission-critical backend systems from inception to production
  • Drive technical standards, architecture decision records, and actively participate in and elevate the quality of code reviews
  • Improve the existing product and support large-scale system performance and reliability
  • Mentor senior engineers through technical partnership, not direct management
  • Build third-party integrations with major conference providers using SDKs
What You Bring
  • 9+ years of hands-on software development experience using Python
  • Proven experience with distributed systems software design
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API standards
  • Proven experience in distributed microservices development
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS or GCP)
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for package management and release cycles (CI/CD)
  • Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB / Elasticsearch) and SQL databases
  • Strong personal accountability and informal leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
Education:
  • BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
